Sunday 7th of August, 4.00 p.m. at AAASC It is easy to sit at home and watch T.V. or pretend that all is well as long it is not happening to us, as the Assyrian tragedy continues. Even now thousands are killed, kidnapped, driven out of their homes, scattered as refugees hungry and thirsty not knowing where they will sleep or who will be kind enough to feed them. Does anyone know where they are or how they live? Have we become so ruthless that we don’t even care to know? This is not the first time that our people have faced such disasters. In remembrance of the Assyrian Martyr’s Day as in the past Assyrian American Association of Southern California has prepared a special program and invites all to participate. It is important that we not forget the past and continue to tell the world about the atrocities committed against our people even now in Iraq. When good people ignore, forget, fail to help, or condemn such atrocities, massacres become ordinary events.
