Sadly, the last picnic of the summer has come, and gone. But picnic-goers didn't seem to mind as they kept busy either eating kabob, or sipping on some chai while chatting up a storm with friends and family. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. |
Some participated in sport activities like volleyball. And who could forget tektah? Boy do they take that game serious, so much so that Shamiram handed out a ribbon to the winner of the matches. For those lucky little people under 5 feet they kept cool on the gigantic water slide, or monkeyed around on the inflated wall. The picnic wouldn't be considered an Assyrian picnic without live entertainment. Therefore, Yourik and his band played all types of Assyrian music, which contributed to the fun and lively mood of the day. It wasn't until the sun began to set and when we all began to say our goodbyes did we realize this was the last of the summer picnics. However so, we all had a wonderful time this summer and thank all those volunteers that contributed their time and hard work to make it so great. And as for those picnics, we'll be back for more next summer.
