Dear Fellow Assyrians:

Thank you for your enthusiastic participation in the latest AAASC elections on Sunday January 31st. 162 members were present at this meeting equal to 70% of total membership. This is probably the largest attendance for elections since long time ago. It shows that a large percentage of our people care about the future of this organization.

Seeing  so many people who had taken the time to vote in support of their favorite candidates was indeed encouraging. Elections are about every individual having the opportunity to exercise his and her voting rights to elect the candidates of his or her choice which clearly was the case during these elections. Equally important is that the  decision of the voters should be honored, and the elected individuals be supported to serve to the best of their ability. For as long as we have men and women who will volunteer to give of their time and talent to serve our people we can be assured of a  lasting future for our culture and heritage. 

 Following is the list of newly elected officers and members of the Board of directors: they will officially assume their work on the first of March 2009.
